Our Labor Doula Package
As our client, the primary doula of your choosing will provide continuous care throughout your pregnancy and childbirth experience in these ways:
Home Visit One
1 hour meeting face to face, to give you information and allow you to decide if we are a good match.
Home Visit Two
2 1/2 hour meeting in which you go over your fears/desires/hopes for your labor and birth with a Birth Needs Assessment provided to you by Better Birth Network. We will discuss what it is like to labor at home and in the hospital. We will practice several pain management techniques and coping skills, and several pushing positions for birthing. We will go over when to call us and specific signs of labor and its progression.
24-Hour On-Call
Your doula is available to you any time day or night from the time you are 38 weeks pregnant until the time your baby is born.
All of Labor, Delivery and up to 2 Hours Postpartum
Your doula remains with you from the time you think you are in labor, (even if you want to do early labor at home) transporting to the hospital with you, staying up to 2 hours after your birth to ensure bonding and a good start to breastfeeding. Also included is one postpartum home visit.
Phone Support
Your doula will be available by phone any time. You are welcome to call after visits to your healthcare providers, ask questions about pregnancy or early labor, or even if you just need emotional support.This is for Mom & Partner, as well!
Postpartum Follow-Up
This offers an opportunity for closure and discussion of your feelings about your birth.
Breastfeeding Support
Your doula can aide with initial latch-on after birth and provide in-person breastfeeding support pre- and post-birth.
